August 31, 2008
BUSINESS BRIEFS
Three Quincy Entrepreneurship
Center client companies were
among the four winners of a regional business plan competition sponsored by the
Western Illinois Entrepreneurship Network.
Receiving the awards
were God, Family & Country, a manufacturer of specialized hay handling
equipment in Pittsfield; ETC Computerland, a computer
sales and service company in Quincy; and Green Line Armour,
a startup company in Quincy that will manufacture products for the logistics industry
from recycled material.
The Quincy Entrepreneurship
Center served 26 clients and
secured approximately $1.7 million in financing for clients who created 31 jobs
during its past fiscal year.
The center serves Adams, Brown and Pike counties and is part of the
Illinois Entrepreneurship Network.
IEN is the umbrella for
all Illinois’
small business services, and helps cut through the tangle of resources to help businesses
achieve their goals.
The Quincy center was cosponsor of the Guerrilla
Marketing workshop that was attended by more than 100 area business people
earlier this year.
A fall seminar on
international trade is being planned.
