January 09, 2009

The Tri-State Development Summit Entrepreneurship Task Force will host "Survival Techniques During an Economic Downturn," a networking event for entrepreneurs.

The session will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at Tiramisu restaurant in Quincy.

Registration is required. Cost is $10 a person and includes lunch. Information and registration should be directed to Shelby Crow at University of Illinois Extension at (217) 223-8380 or sschoon@illinois.edu. The registration deadline is Feb. 11.

The session will be moderated and questions will be answered by facilitators Melissa Griswold, dean of business at Quincy University, and Eric Thomas, president of ETC ComputerLand, a technology solutions provider in Quincy and Kirksville, Mo.

"During an economic downturn, it is increasingly important that small-business owners band together. We plan to bring business owners together to discuss strategies for increasing efficiencies, decreasing costs, and riding out this economic storm," Griswold said.
