ScaleUp and Secure, a program by the Great River Economic Development Foundation (GREDF) aimed at connecting entrepreneurs with capital and support to grow scalable ventures.

The Why:

ScaleUp and Secure is part of the Great River Economic Development Foundation’s ongoing investment in sustainable economic development, to support high-growth entrepreneurs and foster a vibrant, inclusive business ecosystem.

The mission of ScaleUp and Secure is to empower entrepreneurs by addressing the critical challenge of securing capital. The program supports the startup ecosystem in alignment with the Quincy Next Strategic Plan, enhancing the local labor market through the development of high-potential businesses and facilitating capital investment to boost the regional economy.

ScaleUp and Secure is not a grant program. It is an investment opportunity. It represents a strategic step toward building a stronger, more innovative, and resilient local economy.

ScaleUp and Secure targets businesses and entrepreneurs located in Adams or Hancock Counties with:

  • Scalable Business Models
  • Strong Leadership Teams
  • Significant Market Opportunities
  • Well-Developed Business Plan

Application:

Process:

  1. Submit Your Application

Once GREDF receives your application, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know your application has been received.

  1. Application Review

Following the application deadline of November 23, each submission will be reviewed to determine which businesses advance to the next stage.

  1. Build Your Pitch

Businesses selected to advance will receive a PowerPoint template and guidance to help develop their presentation.

  1. Advisor Presentations

Selected businesses will present to a team of advisors who will evaluate each presentation and determine which businesses advance to Pitch Night on Thursday, January 28th.

Throughout the process, GREDF will connect participating businesses with resources, coaching, and guidance. Our goal is to ensure that every participating business gains valuable tools and connections—whether or not it advances to Pitch Night.

  1. Pitch Night

Businesses selected for Pitch Night will present their opportunities directly to a group of local investors seeking businesses ready to scale.

The program is designed to be more than just a funding opportunity; it is a comprehensive support system focused on fostering the growth and development of local businesses. Selected applicants will have the opportunity to showcase their business to investors eager to fund businesses ready to scale up.
